St Joseph’s church was decorated beautifully, as usual, this year. However, Teagan and Latah wanted to attend the outdoor Vigil Easter Mass instead, which we did. We enjoyed it very much even though it lasted over two hours. It started with a huge fire lit to start the Easter Candle. After several blessings, songs and greetings the Easter Candle was used to light the candles we all were holding. The fire spread around the ring of people as it went from one to another. It was a beautiful ritual. Chairs were set up outside so we proceeded to the seating area and Mass began. I was honored to be one of 6 Eucharistic Ministers for the bilingual Mass.

Easter Sunday was sort of different for us this year. Tay and the girls went to Heather’s for a brunch. I spent time with Rosemary and Kirk. We had our family Easter dinner on Monday night and Dennis joined us.

Just before Easter Teagan’s beautiful, fluffy cat, Ziggy died. Apparently he was hit by a car. They found him laying by the house dying. He was able to drink a bit of water and then was gone. We buried Ziggy at the edge of the woods at my house.

Ziggy is survived by his sister, Suki, who is Latah’s cat. It was sort of strange in that Latah’s cat bond with Teagan and Teagan’s cat bond with Latah.

Good bye Ziggy
The Ice Bucket Challenge is back! In 2014, Americans were asked to pour buckets of ice water on themselves and post the video to social media in order to raise awareness for ALS, or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis — commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Now, students at the University of South Carolina are doing their best to make a splash with the same challenge — this time, to benefit a new cause. They wanted to bring that same energy to mental health. They are concerned about the number of suicides amongst young people.
Latah and Sophie accepted the challenge. Apparently Jason and Jeannette did also but I didn’t see their video.
